仏心とは
busshin towa
自分のことはさておいても
jibun no koto wa sate oitemo
世のため人のために
yonotame hitonotame ni
つくそうという心に他なりません
tsukusou to iu kokoro ni hokanarimasen
自分を中心とするから苦しむのです
jibun wo chushin to suru kara kurushimu no desu
仏心にめざめれば
busshin ni mezamereba
苦労も生き甲斐に変わるのです
kuro mo ikigai ni kawaruno desu
Awakening the Buddha-Mind
The Buddha-Mind
Is nothing other than the mind
That urges service on behalf of the world and its people
Before our own affairs.
Because we focus on ourselves, this takes a struggle,
But when the Buddha-Mind is awakened
Even hard effort changes into something worth living for.
