KNOM concept

"What does it mean to live?"

A monk sang an answer to this question that has been asked for many generations.

"Cherry blossoms in spring
Cuckoo songs in summer
Moon shines in autumn
And clear, chilly snow falls in winter
How beautiful the world is"

It is also the wisdom to live in warfare, environmental destruction, and the crisis of the chaotic modern world.

No matter how our society gets artificial environment, we monks continue to pass on this wisdom from master to disciple, inheriting the modes of living, using the temple as its vehicle. Without realizing, it enters internally into every phase of the Japanese lifestyle.

The continuity of such lifestyle will become an aid for those who hope, with all of their heart, for a life full of love and appreciation. The Japanese lifestyle made of culture and traits influenced from buddhist beliefs is the heritage for Japanese people and could be shared amongst people all over the world.

We hope to transform these Buddhist thoughts into a lamplight and deliver this message to the world. Hope to fill the world with smiles of joy.

This thought, shared with Buddhist monks, marked the beginning of this website
